With psychedelics and plant-based theologies rising to meet the needs of the fastest-growing religious demographic “spiritual, not religious” it is crucial for spiritual caregivers and leaders, healing professionals, and anyone interested in human wellbeing to understand what these powerful substances can offer.
This course will explore:
• Historical and present-day uses of entheogens
• The psychedelic renaissance in the context of the War on Drugs
• Religious traditions using altered states to connect with the Divine
• Race, gender, and sexuality as lenses on the “War on the Ecstatic”
• Treatment modalities from harm reduction to 12-step programs
This course introduces participants to the intersection of religion, psychedelics, and entheogens.
